LOCAL RULES \u2013 Updated 13\/01\/2025.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

(1) Out of Bounds is beyond any line of white posts with black tops or any fence line,
\nincluding any limestone retaining wall which defines the boundaries of the course.<\/p>\n

(2) Any artificial object on the course shall be deemed a moveable or an immoveable
\nobstruction and relief may be taken in accordance with Rules 15.2 or 16.1.
\nRed Stakes defining the Red Penalty Area are deemed to be moveable obstructions.<\/p>\n

(3) Barrancas on the course are deemed to be part of The General Area. A ball entering
\nany barranca is to be played as it lies otherwise a drop may be taken, under penalty of
\none stroke, in accordance with Rule 19.<\/p>\n

(4) If a ball lies in a kangaroo footprint in a bunker, then relief may be taken in
\naccordance with Rule 16.1c.<\/p>\n

(5) The dam adjacent to sections of the 10th and 18th fairways is a Red Penalty Area
\ndefined by red stakes. Rule 17 applies. No entry to the dam is allowed as damage to the
\nliner may occur. The lining of the dam defines a No Play Zone and Rule 17.1e applies. If
\nthere is doubt whether a ball is in or is lost in the Penalty Area after playing towards the
\npenalty area, to save time, the player may play another ball provisionally under any of
\nthe applicable options in Rule 17.1d. If the original ball is found outside the Penalty
\nArea, the player must continue play with it without penalty. If the original ball is not
\nfound within the allowable 3-minute search period or is found in the Penalty Area, the
\nplayer must continue with the provisional ball and penalty occurred in so playing it.<\/p>\n

(6) Staked trees and staked shrubs less than 2m in height are subject to relief in
\naccordance with Rule 16.1. NB: For the avoidance of doubt, relief from staked trees and
\nstaked shrubs is only available if the tree or shrub is less than 2m in height. The mere
\npresence of a stake on a tree or shrub, does not in itself, automatically provide relief.
\nNote: The stakes are Immovable Obstructions.<\/p>\n

(7) If a ball lies in bird or animal damage, then relief may be taken in accordance with
\nRule 16.1. NB: Interference by this damage of the players\u2019 stance is deemed not to be,
\nof itself, interference under this Rule.<\/p>\n

(8) On closely mown (fairway length or less) areas, or within two club lengths of a
\nclosely mown area – if a ball lies on an exposed tree root or that tree root interferes with
\nthe area of intended swing free relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b.<\/p>\n

(9) All sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference may be
\nobtained under Rule 16.1. In addition, if a ball is in the General Area the player may take
\nrelief under Rule 16.1b if the immoveable obstruction on the line of play and is within
\ntwo club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played and within two club
\nlengths of the ball.<\/p>\n

(10) For all play at this course, a player may obtain distance information by use of a
\ndistance-measuring device. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distancemeasuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g.
\nelevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 4-3.<\/p>\n

(11) All golf to immediately cease on the 10th and 18th holes when emergency services
\nneed to collect water from the lake at Sun City C.C. Both holes will be closed whilst the
\nany emergency vehicles, including, but not limited to \u2013 helicopters, water trucks and fire
\nengines are using the lake, and for the duration of an emergency situation. If these holes
\nneed to be closed at any time during competition rounds, that competition will become
\na 16-hole competition for all participants. If you are playing either hole when the
\nemergency services first arrive you must not complete the hole. Failure to follow this
\nnotice may result in suspension of membership.<\/p>\n
